Johannes Lamparter is again Nordic Combined Junior World Champion!

Winning the gold medal is probably one of the biggest goals for Johannes Lamparter this season. The young Tyrolean won his 7th (!) medal at the Nordic Junior World Championships at the individual competition in Lahti, Finland. After gold with the team in 2018 in Kandersteg, gold and silver in the individual, and bronze with the team in 2019 in Lahti, gold in the team and silver in the individual in 2020 in Oberwiesenthal, the 19-year-old is adding another gold medal to his collection of medals.

Johannes laid the foundation stone for this gold medal on the hill. With a jump of 95 meters, Johannes went on the trail as the leader after the jump. In the end, the “nature boy” from Tyrol was able to bring a good 49 seconds ahead of Matteo Baud (FRA) and almost 56 seconds over Stefan Rettenegger (AUT) to the finish after a “start-finish victory”.

Johannes Lamparter: “This gold medal means a lot to me and is extremely important. I have repeatedly emphasized how important this Junior World Championship is to me. At my “last” JWM, I wanted to really give it all again and enjoy the whole thing also. That it will be enough for gold in the end is a dream and I am very happy. This last competition at a Junior World Championship is somehow a kind of “conclusion” to my competition time as a youth or with the juniors. It was a really cool time, I really enjoyed it and I’m already looking forward to everything that is to come. “
