Overall World Cup victory for Johannes Lamparter

After an incredible season with a difficult start, Johannes Lamparter crowned himself overall World Cup winner 2022/2023! The young Tyrolean wrote not only one success story, but several over the winter.

One season highlight followed the next: Johannes Lamparter was able to laugh from the top podium a whole 7 times this season. At home in Seefeld he celebrated winning the Nordic Combined Triple and at the same time his first, very emotional home World Cup victory. In addition, he won the Schwarzwaldtrophy in Schonach and also the Germantrophy. At the World Championships in Planica, the 21-year-old won 3 bronze medals, making him the most successful Austrian Nordic athlete. But his personal season highlight and proof of the incredibly consistent performance throughout the season, was the victory in the overall World Cup! “Jo” is only the 3rd Austrian who was able to achieve this.

At only 21 years old, the Tyrolean can already look back on numerous successes: he currently holds 10 World Cup victories and is thus number 4 in the Austrian best list. Of these, Johannes took 7 victories this season, which is also a new Austrian record. He is also the first Austrian to win the Nordic Combined Triple in Seefeld. At World Championships he already combined to a total of 6 medals – 2 of them in gold.

In addition to his successes, Johannes Lamparter is also appreciated for his sympathetic and authentic manner as well as his down-to-earth appearance. Thus he won the public vote for the “most likeable Nordic athlete in Austria” and received the “Goldene Teekanne” for it. He was also voted “Tyrol’s Sportsman of the Year” for the second time in a row – a great honor in a province with so many impressive sports personalities.

Chapeau, Jo! 😊
