Tyrol’s Sportsman of the Year and Golden Teapot for Johannes Lamparter

Double World Champion Johannes Lamparter can already celebrate several great awards this year.

On April 27th, Johannes Lamparter was awarded twice after the sports fans had voted for him in large numbers. During a ceremonial awarding at the Bergisel, the Nordic Combined athlete received the “Viktor” as Tyrol’s Sportsman of the Year for the first time in his career as well as the “Viktor” as Tyrolean Team of the Year together with Lukas Greiderer. The two won the team world championship title in Oberstdorf in 2021 and Johannes Lamparter became the youngest double World Champion in the Nordic Combined with his sensational gold medal in the individual event. The year before, the 20-year-old from Rum was already honored as up-and-comer of the year and has now already three times the “Viktor” in his collection.

The 20-year-old Tyrolean was also voted the most popular Nordic athlete by Austrian sports fans for the second time in a row and was accordingly once again awarded the “Golden Teapot”.

After a great season, the 20-year-old Nordic combined athlete can proudly accept these awards. Johannes Lamparter had to admit defeat in the overall World Cup only very narrowly, but fought his way to a more than deserved 2nd place. In addition, he celebrated his first three World Cup victories last winter as well as a total of 14 podium finishes. “Jo” finished the Nordic Combined Triple in Seefeld with a great second place and also competed there with the yellow bib for the first time in his career. At the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing he showed appealing performances in difficult conditions, which finally led to the good rankings 4, 6 and 4.

These awards are a great confirmation of Johannes Lamparter’s sporting and personal way, since a sympathetic and authentic appearance, sporting spirit and the personal handling of successes and failures are rewarded.
