Gold and Silver for Johannes Lamparter at the Junior World Championships

With the Junior World Championships in Oberwiesenthal, Germany, an absolute highlight was on the schedule for the Nordic Combined athlete Johannes Lamparter.

The outdoors lover from Rum near Innsbruck started with the single competition over 10 km into his third Junior World Championships already. After a difficult and windy jumping competition with lots of interruptions, the 18-year-old was placed 5th and then showed a great performance on the cross-country track, which rewarded him with the silver medal. At the team competition (4x 5 km) Johannes and his team colleagues took a safe team gold medal after great jumps on the hill and good cross-country performances. For the former Tyrolian champion in weight lifting, this meant his 6th medal at Junior World Championships already.

Johannes Lamparter: “This season I have trained hard with the goal of travelling to the Junior World Championships in Oberwiesenthal in a good shape. That worked out well and I am more than happy about winning these two medals. The JWC was, together with the home World Cup in Ramsau and the Triple in Seefeld THE highlight of my season.”
